History
* The 1998 Constitutional Convention

The Constitutional Convention to discuss the issue of Australia becoming a republic took place in Old Parliament House in Canberra from 2 to 13 February 1998. The Convention comprised 152 delegates, half of whom were appointed and half of whom were elected.

The Government has resolved that there will be a constitutional referendum in 1999 to determine whether Australia will become a republic. It is vital that you support us leading up to this referendum to ensure an Australian republic is finally realised!
