The Republic Advisory Committee (RAC) was established
by the former Government on 28 April 1993 to
"prepare an options paper which describes the
minimum constitutional changes necessary to
achieve a viable Federal Republic of Australia,
without examining options which would otherwise
change our way of government."
This section contains a review of the RAC report
delivered to the Government on 5 October 1993,
and the official response to the report delivered
by the Government on 7 June 1995.
