NATIONAL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS 2010
The ARM Constitution provides that “Not less than 6 and not more than 10 members (as determined by the National Committee) are to be elected every alternate 2 years by a national ballot of ARM members” (4.5 (b)).Similarly, one member of the Youth Wing is to be elected at the same time by a ballot of the members of the Youth Wing (4.5 (c)).
The current members of the National Committee elected in Nov 2008 all retire but are eligible for re-election should they re-nominate.
All members of the ARM who are financial as at 1 Sep 2010 are eligible to nominate for election to the National Committee. If you wish to nominate/renominate please inform the Returning Officer, Beth Westra, on staff@republic.org.au or on 02 6257 3705 as soon as possible and before 5.00pm Thu 16 Sep.
All members who nominate will be informed of further requirements as they nominate.
If more than 10 nominations are received an election will be required and candidates’ details and ballot papers will be distributed to all financial members in early Oct 10.
