I joined the Republic Movement because I believe our constitution must reflect Australian values – fairness, merit and a fair go.
As President of the Macquarie Republic Club, I’ve led a local movement to greater campus presence & interviewed a Federal MP about the need for a Republic.
I led the pro-Republic debate team at NSW Young liberal Convention – taking our campaign for change to hundreds of Young liberals across NSW.
I’ve spoken with news websites about the movement and have strong connections with University Republic Club executives across Australia.
If supported, I shall continue our fight for a fairer Australia.
Hi, my name is Lachlan and I am running to be the Youth Convenor of the Australian Republic Movement. I am a passionate young activist for the ARM in the ACT. I am involved as an activist in other areas including trade unions, and progressive politics in general. I will bring a wealth of experience in campaign planning, volunteer training, event organisation, and youth engagement to this role. I will bring structure, and commitment to this job while upholding the values of our movement.
My name is Reagan Ward and I am a committed republican.
When I made the decision to run for Youth Convenor, I did so knowing that our generation can be instrumental in shaping our nation’s future. As a student of republicanism at home and abroad, I am aware of how beneficial an Australian head of state can be.
In my time as an executive communications officer, I have found that action and engagement must be balanced. As Youth Convenor, I will help rally our young grassroots supporters — whether they be in work or studying — to become our cause’s active nucleus.
I’m a passionate republican and the current Victorian Youth Convenor and President of the University of Melbourne Republic Club. In those roles I’ve organised successful campaign events with leading politicians and academics, including the first ever Young Republic Movement BBQ for the Hottest 100. I have the skills to turn youth passion into youth engagement. As Youth Convenor I would frequently consult with state level counterparts, promote the High School Essay Competition, and replicate the Hottest 100 BBQ nationwide. I’m supporting Peter FitzSimons, Tully Fletcher, Michelle Wood, Piers Grove, Alice Crawford, David McGregor, Bevan Ringer and Will Fowles.
